But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.2 Corinthians 12:9
We love our own sense of free will, limited as it is.
We have a fear of being without our own private will.
This is one of the aces up the sleeve of the mind.
When we speak of surrender, you feel like
you are giving up your own autonomy to a higher power,
and are not anymore making your own decisions.
You think, ‘I may not agree with God.
He may not give me what I want.’
You think you may give up your beautiful life
only to end up like a spiritual vegetable.
But in the experience itself, of surrendering
and tasting the fruit of surrendering,
you see you don’t even need to trust.
You are one with the universe, which is
in perfect harmony and alignment with itself.
Why would you have a desire when everything is so perfect?
If everything is perfect, why would you want free will?
